The Wine Cave is a retail store that presents boutique wines from a wide range of New Zealand winemakers. Run by an award-winning sommelier, it is a sophisticated experience for wine lovers.

 

The design response celebrates the collection and display of wine, with the main room showcasing the beauty of the bottles en masse. Wines are arranged by their varietals and softly lit from behind, highlighting the distinct colour of each bottle. Central to the tasting room is an eight-metre-long table made from polished black glass which reflects the wine collection and the rhythmic pattern of the lighting above. This theatrical interior is paired with a more calming consultation room.
